TANE MAHUTA
Kauri tress are the giants of the New Zealand forest, living for hundreds of years.
Largest of them all is Tane Mahuta or Lord of the Forest reaching 51.2m high. Painted in vivid colours and retro design inspired.
The Tane Mahuta Track is sign posted from State Highway 12, which runs through the Waipoua Forest and 65km north of the township of Dargaville. The track is an easy 5min walk.

Kauri Dieback: Today this desease is killing our Kauri! It is spread through the transportation of spores that live in the soil by trampers and walkers shoes. If you are to visit a Kauri forest please disinfect your shoes before and after visiting the area.
