Geraldine is a long time and good friend. I painted this portrait of her as a gift. However as it was a surprise I could not have her sit for the painting. Instead I used a 21 inch monitor and a jpg photo of her which I diplayed full screen. While necessity is the mother of invention I discovered that this was a very handy method especially as the screen tended to display the modelling of the face very well.
